Protection IP

 

The European standars CEI 70-1 defines the protection degree of an electrical machine (with voltage lower than 72,5KV) with the following system:

The first figure indicates the protection against entering of solid bodies; the second figure indicates the protections against entering of liquids; the third paramenter insicates the mechanical resistance against impacts.
